Just Another Day in IT

It's been a couple of months since my last post, but I can now break my vow of silence. I've been involved in some pretty awesome puppet-building opportunities as of late and I plan on dedicating some blog-space to these projects. In the meantime, here's the unveiling of my most recent work:

Puppet Rap Video

A handful of my creations made it into Can't Stop Won't Stop's music video "NPR" as background dancers and as one of the main singers (this monster). My puppet building compadre, Randy McNair, not only built the square humanoid puppets, but he and his wife did the puppeteering!

Here's the video. Enjoy!

Rehearsal for Puppet Festival

This is a practice that we recorded for the Salt Lake puppetry festival. It was just us improving for ideals, and this is just a segment. The whole story in brief is that a princess is having a party and everybody turns into zombies. We wanted the party to be awkward.

Storytime Puppet Shows

During these past couple of weeks, the local television channel has come out and recorded our puppet shows. I am excited. The shows aren't anything grandiose since they are the quick little puppet shows that we perform at the end of each story time. They have been showing on a local station and now are up on YOUTUBE. Enjoy! And remember our target audience is 3-year-olds.

48 Hour Film Festival

This past weekend was Salt Lake's 48 hour film festival. My part in the film was the "puppet master". Today was the screening of the film, and ours was shown along with 8 other films. I wish you could have heard the reaction to our film. I just did the puppets so all of the credit goes to the rest of the crew who, as you'll see, did an amazing job.

The Incredible Growing Stan

Stan is a redo of an earlier puppet named the Incredible Growing Bob. Well Bob got butchered and now from the few pieces that remain of Bob I give you Stan! The main difference that makes Stan new and improved is that he is rigged with a hair clippy.

Fred the Framed

This a puppet made from bed foam and a thrift frame. I enjoyed making these videos. I haven't had the opportunity to write any posts recently because of technical difficulties. So here are a few to make up for it.
