Rat Prince Extraordinaire

Okay, so this little brown rat doesn't look much of the hero type, but his costume for the Rat-Punzel performance was pretty sweet. We're talking L200 foam armor and helmet complete with a cape and a swashbuckling feather. Here, he's dressed down to show his more casual side.

The Tower

I was hoping to find some better pictures of our lady rat's humble abode, but this was all I was able to dig up. Sometimes half of the fun of puppet performances are building outrageous sets.

Rat-punzel

The beautiful... the hairy... Rat-punzel! For the performance of rat-punzel, I needed her to just chill in her tower so instead of arm rods, she just has pose-able arms.

And yes, she is wearing bunny slippers. The better for TV watching while waiting for her rat-knight in shining armor.

Timpanogos 2015

Well, this year's timp fest was insane! I performed my 30 minute improv show with Randy McNair, and then did an hour long performance with my Dressing the Naked Hand cohorts. It was a lot of fun, but I am wiped out. I don't have any videos of the performance for you yet, but another puppet troupe was recording everyone's show so I will hopefully have that for the blog soon. Below are photos of the backstage mess as well as Mark's incredible stage and the most realistic looking puppet I've ever seen.

The Final Countdown

Timp Fest is this coming weekend, and we have been building like madmen! My little space is overflowing with puppets and puppet guts. It's like a horror film set. But we've gotten a lot of cute little critters out of the mess so I'm going to have a lot of posts coming blogger's way. I'll try to keep up the trend of posting once a week for the next little while, although school (my second to last semester) started today so my wife might have to take over.

One of the performances we're doing is Cinderella... with monsters. It should prove to be interesting.

A Very Villainous Rat

Timpanogos Storytelling Festival is in two weeks, and I realized that I never really posted any good shots of the rats from my "hairy tail of rat-punzel" show in 2013 (see this post). So, without further ado, I introduce the villain! I'll post photos of the other ratlings as I take them.
